Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma building is a rectangular shaped, 12-story Modern Movement styled office building. The building was designed and constructed in two phases. The 1954 expandable 3-story, 44,000 square foot, structure became an iconic Art Deco downtown landmark as a lasting symbol of the health insurance industry leadership  organization. The additional nine floors in 1967 increased the building by 62,000 square feet  The building is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

PandDStudio researched and wrote the National Register nomination and provided tax preservation tax credits consulting and application management. The completed project retains the building's original use as office space and accommodates important office, classroom and function space for the programs of the University of Tulsa, Oxley College of Health Sciences. The project received the State Historic Preservation Officer's Citation of Merit.
