Buick Building

The Buick Motor Co. building, prominently located on the corner of North Broadway Avenue and North West 10th Street, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing resource to the Automobile Alley Historic District near Oklahoma City. Built in 1927, the four-story reinforced concrete building with Tapestry patterned brick, cast stone embellishments, and multi-pane industrial steel windows also retains interior features and details of the original new and used automobile showrooms that lined the storefronts and the service area in the back. There were automobile sized elevators that could place a car on any story and were changed to people elevators as part of the project. The Buick building now provides 59,500 square feet of restaurant and office space in a trending area of Oklahoma City.

The Buick was one of 11 buildings in and around the Automobile Alley Historic District that were rehabilitated and adapted to new uses between 2008 and 2017 for which PandDStudio provided a variety of services such as National Register nominations, existing conditions, historical research, design and preservation consulting, and preservation tax credits consulting and application management. The project received the State Historic Preservation Officer's Citation of Merit.
