The Milk Bottle Grocery Store

A Route 66 icon and perhaps one of the best-known buildings in Oklahoma City, the Milk Bottle Grocery at 2426 North  Classen Boulevard, is individually listed on the National Register of Hsitoric Places The building could have been lost decades ago if not for the efforts of John Kilpatrick. After his death, his daughter became steward of  the small, triangular building. Working with PandDStudio as historic preservation design consultant  and preservation tax credits application manager, Ms. Kilpatrick completed a certified rehabilitation of smallest building in Oklahoma to benefit from state and federal rehabilitation tax credits, demonstrating  that these incentives can help preserve great buildings of all sizes. building. The adaptive reuse and certified rehabilitation of the Milk Bottle Grocery Store was awarded the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Officer's Citation of Merit.
